2025 ALAN WORKSHOP BUDDIES

The ALAN Mentorship Committee (ALAN MC) would like to offer attendees who are new to ALAN and/or an in-person Workshop an opportunity to connect with members who have attended previous Workshops. These pairings will provide newer attendees with a go-to person for questions they have prior to and during the Workshop and an opportunity to build community and connections among ALAN members. This is the third year the ALAN MC is organizing ALAN Buddies for the Workshop and it is always such fun!

If you are a newer attendee who would like to be connected with a more experienced conference attendee or you’ve been to ALAN before and would like to support a newcomer, fill out this form: https://forms.gle/XnFu7oaijtWVwGTU8

Join us tonight for our book club discussion of 2024 Walden Award finalist, The Immeasurable Depth of You by Maria Ingrande Mora who will be joining us. Their work captures 15 year old Brynn’s navigation of her fear and fearlessness as she is forced to spend the summer tech-free on Tampa Bay in a house boat with her father. There is a compelling mystery too! Ingrande Mora’s brilliant coming of age story reflects the nuances of managing mental illness, the power of family and captures the beauty and bounty of Florida mangroves while addressing the potential calamities such as alligators, sharks and that Floridians face.
